Preschool is preschool. All you do is fingerpaint, ride the big wheel and eat applesauce.

Right? I remember doing that in kindergarten... not anymore. Preschool is the new kindergarten. I didn't go to preschool myself, so I can only imagine how much more advanced I'd be right now.

A big study was recently done on preschoolers. Play-based preschoolers started a little behind, but caught up academically vs. education-based preschoolers by the end of kindergarden. Play-based preschoolers were happier, calmer, and liked school better. Education-based preschoolers were more timid in school, scared of taking tests, and generally disliked school more so than others. This difference lasted for years past kindergarden.
