I just wanted to say I hope it works out for your son and God bless. I don't think you're going to get much of a response here maybe because many probably just don't know or don't know how to identify with his predicament. Have you tried talking to his parole officer or some other person familiar with his options? I have a very young cousin who's struggled with drug addiction and was hanging out with the wrong crowd, consequently he got into petty crime in NYC to support his habit. He eventually worked with a number of agencies back east to get his life together. I know there must be similar housing resources on the west coast, especially in California. Try the Dept of Rehabilitation that helps people with their educational goals after they're on disability. Maybe they can point you in the right direction or can give you some ideas on who to contact. Best wishes.

I agree, I don't think the lack of response here is hostile, folks just have no experience with this type of situation and don't know what the proper approach would be.

Have you considered contacting the Sacramento city gov't, explaining the situation, and seeing if they could advise you?

If he is on parole, 'sometimes' parole officers have listings of local housing. He can also contact the churches that help people down on their luck. North Sacramento also has alot of low income apartments, but sometimes the waiting list can take awhile. Good luck.

Cool Real World search

Those of us in the real world and have lived at the level you mentioned know what you are going through. Try having HIM talk to managers at Mobile Home parks. Many people, especially the elderly, move into a park, move out or pass on, and leave themselves or family, in a lease that costs $300.+ a month, without any line to buy the old Mobiles. Some Mobile home parks require M. homes to be less than 10 , 15 yrs old so ask questions before you SIGN ANYTHING! The space rent varies depending on location however most parks are close to public transpo., freeways and shopping. Managers are touchy; bring recent references and check with them before renting from any mobile home owner. A mobile home owner can accept money for rent and then 'inform you' of park rules you cannot accomadate. Like large pets, less than 50 yrs in 65+ senior parks, etc. BE CAREFUL, I'VE SEEN THAT LAST ONE ABUSED legally!!!! I hope this info helps. My father and step mother lived in a senior park that had just opened up to disabled individuals. Only added to the Little old ladies that requested Dad's help with, "Plumbing Issues." Poor Dad. Took him a while to figure out why he was called, yet nothing was really wrong.........
Good luck!
