Yah, depending upon where you live. We are in Natomas and have a local HOA company that I can't even remember their name. They are changing management so I will leave it at that

Default Cable Service

I believe in Sacramento proper you are stuck with Comcast, but I have DirecTV sattelite TV and they are a little cheaper than Comcast and have great service. Everyone I know is happy with DirecTV. And if you are into football, they are the only sattelite carrying the NFL Sunday Ticket.

One thing though, is if you have Comcast and want to use their internet service, you can get a break on the price if you have both services from Comcast.

We have Direct TV satellite service which is very good.
Comcast is expensive and they raised the price about every 3 months it seemed.
Satellite TV is the way to go...

Some areas have Wave.

The cable tv is a government-sanctioned monopoly in most places. The city guarantees a monopoly for a fee.
