This is crazy. I've heard about this scam my whole life but I've never actually encountered it "in the wild."

I heard on the news the parking lot seller will mug you and beat you up as soon as you show them your money. They have done this a lot in Sacramento and lure suckers with fake Craigslist ads. I quit Craigslist due to so many hustling little weasels on it. A lot of what is sold on Craigslist is stolen merchandise somebody is trying to unload or defective and they lost the receipt and cannot use the warranty or take it back for exchange/ refund.

If I want stuff I look at pennysaver or a good sale like black Friday.

I always say "Hold on, I've got a cop friend who's looking for a -------, I'll give him a call and you can meet him here, or I'll give him your license # so he can find you if you're not here". That usually makes them leave the area.

Haha this type of scam has been going on for a long time. I've been approached a handful of times over the years going back to the early 90's.

contact the police right away.
but the police are way to busy to care. but at least there would be a report of the scam going on.
might help some fool thinking they just got the "deal" of the year.
nobody will ever get there money back. but maybe the police might keep a eye out for them.

if only the sheaple out there would relise there are NO good deals out of the back of a car/truck/van.

greed of them that want to believe they are getting a deal keep the scamers out there.
