My son was issued a parking ticket because the registration sticker wasnt applied to the licence plate but the registration was paid and he had the sticker in the glove box. That night we applied the sticker. Can we show it to someone (CHP or something simular) to have it dismissed or is the only thing we can do is appeal? I know nothing about parking tickets.

Somewhere on the citation will be a section that reads "Correctable" - followed by "Yes" or "No" - with checkboxes associates with the two options.

If the violation is correctable, then it will be checked as such, and you can go to a local police department, get the issue corrected, and submit the paperwork to the courthouse.

If it is not corrected, you will need to either pay a fine, or see a judge.

Correctable violations usually involve equipment issues, such as headlights, license plates, ect...

I don't think that a parking citation is correctable - but read the citation throughly, and you will know whether it is.

Ticket should have a date of appearance if you want to contest it I think. A judge might listen. /shrug

It's correctable: Correctable Violations (

Curious thing is how he got it as a parking citation unless he wasn't there at the scene. Then the police would cite it and put the ticket on the windshield. But. . . most police officers can easily pull up a car's license and registration through their system and it would show if it's paid or not. Either way, it should be an easily fixed citation. Just follow the link above.
