I just received a bill from:

Sacramento County
Utililies Billing
9700 Goethe RD, STE C
Sacramento, CA 95827-3500

This apparently is a sewer bill from 03/01/2013 to 04/30/2013 for the amount of $87.70. I am asking here because I am not familiar with this. Is this in addition to the water/garbage bill that we all pay monthly? Thanks.

Odd you'd end up with an unpaid sewer bill if you've been paying water and garbage. Your previous bills should be itemized--did you pay anything for sewer in those months?

What do you mean by "unpaid"? I think another family member has been paying sewer bills from a mailing address in LA. Now that I live at this address in Sacramento, this person has this bill sent to me. As I said earlier, this is the first time I have seen a sewer bill. I have always thought it's part of the water/garbage service. I just want to know I am not paying for anything I am not supposed to be paying. I am not, right?

I receive a different water/garbage bill for about $79 a month.

It depends on the exact area you live in--there's no one billing way for all of Sacramento. I pay a separate bill to the water district, and another bill for combined sewer/garbage to the county. Others have combined bills.

You'll need to check your statements to see that all three are being billed/paid, whichever way they do it, and call the county if you have questions.

It is garbage and sewer. Water bills should be a separate utility.

I only meant "unpaid" as in, you're receiving a bill for it, which indicates to me that it hadn't been paid. I'd dig up any other bills that you have from the county and confirm that sewer has not been included. Then give them a call. They should be able to confirm what is included on what bill and what the current status is.
