I travel around Northern California frequently. I'm seeing the Confederate flag flown from homes, trucks quite often especially in rural areas. And I even see it in Carmichael or Fair Oaks.
What is the message of a person that flies the Confederate flag?

Default I want to know too!

Thanks for asking this question. I see them around Lincoln and Roseville. I did ask someone who I thought might know . . . he said that there's a group in the Foresthill area who do it. I have no idea if that is true or not. I'm only the messenger, so don't flame me, anyone!

States' rats, white supremacy, small government, southern heritage. It can mean any of a dozen things, some insidious and others not.

It can be a form of protest against Federal regulations such as excessive red-tape/paperwork demanded of businessmen and teachers, high taxes, Obama-care, restrictions on extracting natural resources, and restrictions on logging in order to protect tiny endangered creatures.

That's a lot. That's symbolism so complicated it would have James Joyce reaching for Advil.

I thought Brad Paisley already answered this question:

"To the man that waited on me at the Starbucks down on Main, I hope you understand
When I put on that t-shirt, the only thing I meant to say is I'm a Skynyrd fan
The red flag on my chest somehow is like the elephant in the corner of the south
And I just walked him right in the room
Just a proud rebel son with an 'ol can of worms
Lookin' like I got a lot to learn but from my point of view"

But LL Cool J will forgive his symbol of the antebellum South if Brad forgives LL for his choice of fashion accessories (is I think how the song ends).

In Birmingham, they love the governor (boo boo boo)
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Interesting responses!
I fly the American flag myself; it seems like the patriotic thing to do.

I get out plenty. Sounds like u have an exaggeration issue. You're probably 1 of those people that thinks Sacramento is 75% black and has the highest murder rate in the state too.
