Im gonna say 5 weeks max, and maybe 7 days straight in a row max at any one time.

One key difference between Sacramento and most of the rest of the nation is we cool off dramatically evenings and nights during summer months (25-35 degrees in City of Sacramento) which greatly relieves the amount of time your A/C needs to operate.

This June - ave high 85, ave low 55.

We've run our AC about 5 days so far this year. Downstairs stays cool, hot upstairs but we don't go there during the day. When the sun sets we turn on the whole house fan and its cool by the time we go to bed.

Delta Breezes, look it up on wiki. You don't have them in NM.

The high's in the low 90's today, 15% humidity and we still have not had to run the A/C, and my house is not well-insulated, nor does it have double-paned energy efficient windows, but it does have a whole house fan that's worked like a charm all month.

We really have not had to use the whole house fan much, but when we do, combined with the Delta Breeze it sucks in that cool air, run it for 20mins, your done, no need for A/C....so far

I have a sister in El Dorado Hills, and she thinks the Delta Breezes cooling effect is much stronger and effective in cooling down in SAC proper......not sure if she is right or not.

July? From a local - Whitewater rafting on the South Fork American River in Coloma. My favorite outfitter is White Water Expeditions. Eat at Marco's (Italian) or Gringo's (Mexican) in Coloma (or hang out at the Coloma Club bar, a favorite with raft guides in the evenings after their work is done).

Great list and so many places to explore. Headed back over this year for 9 days; 3 nights in SF; 3 nights in Guerneville and 3 in Sacramento, think our schedule is filled!
