Cherry pick on super cool days, ignore the other days.
Sac was way cooler than usual yesterday and Fresno was hotter than usual. At least give the full data when you cherry pick.

Fresno was 86@12pm today. Felt pretty good for a hot day.
High of 98(bout average for this time)

Edit: 98/65 for Fresno today
94/60 for Sactoe today

Austin 99/76
Per google

Sacramento was very Sunny at 79F with a feels like temp of 79F

Sort of blows out your argument. Perhaps this is why people LOVE Sacramento's sunny weather, as it was absolutely gorgeous today!

What's ironic is Walnut Creek, CA summers are more like Sacramento's summers than much of the Bay Area.

And, no, I don't denigrate, I report facts.
Ok?What on earth that does that have to do with my post? That ranking doesn't mean Phoenix is never cloudy. Are you serious here?

Oh look who is CHERRY PICKING a single day of weather again LOL. Not sure how your cherry picked observation "blows out" my argument.

Not sure what exactly you find ironic about that but WC is known for being hot and sunny during summer but not as bad as Sacramento

Among the country's sunniest cities, I'd say it has the nicest climate because it lies in more of a sweet spot then the others. Not as wet as Redding or as bone dry as the desert, hotter than the coast but not as hot as the low desert, and still mild enough in Winter that it very rarely freezes and still allows you to grow palm trees, oranges, and all that quintessential California stuff. Even for people who hate heat, and Sacramento gets plenty of it, it's the least objectionable of all the interior Sunny climates of the West.
Yeah it definitely can, a lot of people like some variety and clouds.

Yeah Sac may not be the worst city as far as heat out there but that doesn't mean it's not brutally hot and too much for a lot of people. You're basically doing what the OP always does; "well at least it's not Phoenix".

I prefer SF's weather.
That's the case anywhere in CA. No you don't get 75-80 most of the year either, look at the averages. You actually get upper 60's/low 70's a good portion of the year. Having never lived in SD I'm not sure how you would even know that. I never claimed it was ideal to "all", no climate is, but ideal to more people than any other single climate including SF. SF actually has a pretty bad reputation for climate among a lot of people.

Not only is Sacramento, on average, more comfortable in the Summer than Phoenix, by a long shot, Sacramento is more comfortable than more than 3/4 the Nation's major metros in the summer. Here's a small sample.

HAHAHA NO, Sac is more comfortable than maybe a 1/3 of the nation at best. CHERRY PICKING the hottest parts of nation doesn't prove anything. "SMALL SAMPLE" indeed!

Minneapolis has a forecast high of 83 vs 95 for Sac!!! HAHA Get real! I know you think Sac being "cool" when everyone is asleep makes Sac "comfortable" but much of the nation experiences cooler, less brutal temps when people are actually awake and active than miserably hot Sacramento. Stop CHERRY PICKING data!

"Hey Sac is so comfortable when 99% of people are asleep!" HAHAHA.

Forecast High for Fri/Sat/Sun:
Sac: 95/101/100
Minneapolis: 83/87/89 (Looks like wonderful summer weather compared to Sac)
NYC: 96/91/78 (And another city with better temps than Sac)
San Diego: 77/76/76 (aka PERFECT! lol)
SLC: 95/98/99 (hot but still cooler than Sac! Can't use the humidity argument here either!)
Chicago: 85/86/87 (BEAUTIFUL summer temps)
Boston: 90/85/71 (Sac only wished it could be this nice in mid/late July)
Denver: 92/84/84 (dry warmth and much more comfortable than Sac)
Atlanta: 95/92/89 (not any worse than Sac even with the heat index!)
Cleveland: 82/85/81 (sorry no humidity can make it at as hot as Sac! LOLOL)

oh but wait Phoenix....one of the hottest cities on earth (maybe we should start listing temps for Baghdad and Abu Dahbi!....LOLOL)...guess SAC finally has a city beat there! LOLOLOL. FYI 2/3 of the nation does NOT live in the southwest! Sac is a miserably hot summer city with the rest of them!

No cherry picking going on here. I picked cities in the north, south, east, and west. I almost never use forecasts either, because they are not fact until the day and night has ended. Use the data that actually occurred.

Sacramento sits right next to the Bay Area, which is the coolest/coldest major metro in the nation in the summer, which means, often, those folks are super sensitive to a normal warmer/hotter summer as the rest of the nation usually experiences.

So be wary when a Bay Area person is reporting on Sacramento weather as they may leave out very important information and they don't describe in relative terms compared to the rest of the nation.

SF - **52F, one of few cities in the country that have a "wind chill" in the middle of summer

SAC - 61F - most people in the nation think 61F is cool and comfortable

Washington DC - *96F

*heat index
**wind chill
