It's 112 right now on my backyard weather gauge. Although granted, it's also only 1%. Mid July is still a month and a half away.

Sacramento's End of May Heat Wave:

It Lasted 3-4 days and still was NOT hotter than PHX, Vegas, Fresno, and Bako.

As usual, the nights and mornings were still very pleasant. Only 1 morning of 4, the temp only dropped to 69F which was remarkable because much of the night stayed in 80's, very usual for Sacramento. For perspective most places across the nation, during summer stay in the 80's overnight especially when factoring in humidity and heat index, and even if you don't factor that in much of nation is by far warmer than Sacramento mornings, evenings and nights during late spring and all summer.

It was remarkable that on May 27 the low temp almost stayed in the 70's, but it didn't.
Sacramento May 2020
May 25: 98/60
May 26: 101/65
May 27: 102/69
May 28: 102/64

Factoring heat index none of these days topped 100F.
Despite it being a "heat wave" it made for awesome pool days and nights. Mornings were always very cool and pleasant.

On the last day, by late afternoon, Sacramento's Natural Cold Pacific Air Conditioner kicked in and by early evening was cooling full force so that most of the evening and night Sacramento was 20-22 degrees cooler than Phoenix. The cooling continued into the morning and all day today.

May 29, 2020 7:15 pm:

Sacramento 71F
Phoenix 106F

Except we don't live in Vegas, or Arizona, or any of those other places.

Good point. Just because Sacramento isn't the hottest place on Earth doesn't mean it's not hot.
