Hi All,

I am looking for a great ($800-$900 range, 1 BHK or 2 BHK) apartments in Folsom, CA or Rancho Cordova, Orangevale and Fair-oaks, CA areas where most of Indian family lives. I am from India and my family is living with me. My mom occasionally visits us from India and spends quality time with us. It would be great to have an apartment which is full of Indian people around with good community.

Please guide.

As a general rule, landlords or property managers do not "target" ethnic groups for renting, because they can get into serious discrimination trouble if they do, even when, as in your case, the intentions are good and the motivations are harmless.

You are better off looking for places that happen to be near a Hindi/Sikh temple or community center.

The apartment in Folsom with the greatest number of indians is located just across the street from Intel, Ironpoint at Prairie Oaks. It is also a very nice complex - I lived there for 2 years. However, it is more expensive than your budget. Most recents in Folsom are > $1100. You may be able to find something in Folsom for that price, but it will be on the lower end of the scale, and it will not have as many indians.

On 2nd thought, who is you/your husband's employer? Ask the HR department.

I use to live in apts off Iron Point close to Intel called Willow Springs Apts. Nice apt community and there are a number of Indian families who lived there. Many who also work at Intel. It may be more expensive now. My rent at the time was a little over $800 month for the smallest single bedroom apt. I think its over $1000 now.
