Hi

I want to apply for CA state Disability Insurance since I delivered a baby recently and will be on leave for 8 weeks with no pay from my company.
I read a note in the CA DI form saying that if the base period for disability claims needs to be changed so that the weekly benefit amount differs, then I will have to call to DI office before submitting the claim. I tried number of times to the number (1-800-480-3287) provided but I was put on hold & call cut automatically.

Does anyone have changed his/her base period before? Is there any eligibility to do this?
I think that my weekly benefits would be higher if the base period is changed (by changing my claim start date).
That is my original claim starts on Dec 18, I would like to change it from Jan 1, 2014.
Please share your experience or direct me to the right contact number.

Thanks
