That's actually a nicer area along Auburn Blvd vs further west. I'd call it semi-rural just east of there between Sylvan/Auburn Blvd & Sunrise where the name changes to Old Auburn Rd. I used to rent a storage unit out that ways when I first moved to Sacto.

Here's the details on the water restrictions. http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterr...ation_regs.pdf
I'm glad to hear it's a decent area, I might ask the realtor to go look at it and if it looks good I will drive down, it seems perfect and we love semi-rural..the fewer neighbors the better.

We would feel right at home with the water restrictions, we have had the same thing in Reno for at least the last 10 years. Is water expensive in the area where that house is? We only have a front lawn that is probably 20 x 20 sq ft, we don't waste any water and there are only 2 of us and every summer our water bill is around $80.

Not sure if it's as big an issue as it used to be, but along that stretch of Auburn Boulevard the problem isn't traffic noise, it's prostitution!

no kidding? Well, maybe that is what our agent was talking about, I will have to make sure I ask him. I thought West Sac was 'the place' for prostitutes, I had no idea

Looks like maybe the "action" is moving to Watt Avenue, but here's an article about a 28-arrest prostitution sting from June of this year.

wow..I used to work in Vallejo and a few years ago prostitution got so bad and the women so blatant that a bunch of citizens formed a sort of posse and and a group of them follow right behind the women all night while they were 'on the stroll'. It worked, most of them either went underground or moved to another city =)

I don't know. I live in Folsom, and I have a combined bill (water, sewer, trash, santitation). We are metered. Looks like my last couple of bills were $25-40/mo.

That's basically what happened in downtown Sacramento about 25-30 years ago. They moved on to other neighborhoods--including that stretch of Auburn Boulevard. The county bought up a few of the cheap motels on that stretch and demolished them, so maybe they just moved around the corner to Watt Avenue, outside the Sacramento city limits--but Arden-Arcade is outside the city limits.

wow! Maybe I should look at Folsom, here in Reno in the summer water is around $80 a month, sewer is $35 a month and trash is $23 a month. On top of that, gas/electricity run by a for profit company runs around $350 in the winter and $250 in the summer.

Yikes! I'm in West Roseville and here's a summary of my July 2014 City of Roseville utility bill. My house is about 1400 square feet.

Electric $106, Water, $23, Sewer $31, Trash $23. Right now, I'm watering the yard twice a week for 10 minutes each in two zones and occasionally irrigating a tree or two. I leave the A/C set at 78 day and night. My gas in the summer is around $7.

Hope that helps.

our air is at 78 and in the winter the heat is at 68, the house is 2200 sq ft and it has 11 foot ceilings which might account for some of the expense, but not that much...
