I'm looking to relocate to the Galt area. Is Galt a safe place to live? Is one side of the area better than the other? New to this area and really need some guidance.

Thank You

I used to spend a lot of time down there visiting doctor offices, and the area seemed runned down to me. I don't specifically recall the staff telling me about robberies, and that sort of thing. They are building a new on/off ramp on Hwy 99 in anticipating of an influx of new residents. I prefer the area off Twin Cities Rd. I think it would be considered the newer side of town. And heading out towards Heard, the lots are country-sized. It's beautiful out there.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. My son lives on the east side of Galt and I like that area. Is there any places near
Galt that are safe places to live? I'm trying to find a place close to my son in a good neighborhood.

Thank You for your time.

Point taken; it's a very safe place, but I do believe that the tragic shooting of that animal control officer counts as murder. Ceremony Wednesday afternoon for fallen Galt officer - Crime - Sacto 911 - The Sacramento Bee

Galt, Lodi, a little iffy. However, Stockton is much more than a little iffy but I would still (choosingly) live there. Do you have kids though?

Why would you ever choose Stockton? One of the worst cities in the nation

I think Galt, especially heading out towards Heald is way better than Lodi/Stockton.
