A real estate investment firm from Beverly Hills said Wednesday it will build two 25-story apartment towers, the tallest residential buildings in the region, as well as midrise apartments, condominiums and perhaps a boutique hotel in a quiet residential area off Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento.

And here I thought you were talking about Leland Yee and the rest of the Legislature.

It would appear that Sacramento's Own, Darrell Steinberg, can't control his house.

According to the Bee article, they bought the property and started planning for this before the arena deal. We've already got a catalyst here--the arena is a sideshow.

Yeah, but sure is a coincidence-NOT-that they decided to more forward with their development now that the Arena has surpassed a few more hurdles. Burg, you will always hate the Arena and the Kings, or any gentrification in the downtown, I wonder why, hmm. Because it's not fitting in with your agenda for downtown, thousands of low-income housing units and flop houses.

Kevin Johnson is pushing heavily for this.. In my opinion, its fine with him because hes not going to be around the arena after dark. Hes no different than a liberal at all. He would rather push diversity increasing things down the normal peoples throat but not want to live in that reality. People like him and all the other white liberals should be forced to live in or experience the mess they want to create for regular citizens and that kind of racism needs to be exposed.

Chimperique, you don't know what you're talking about, and even your lies are amateurish.

At least I'm not resorting to name calling. The agenda of keeping the Grid primarily low-income might not make it through this decade.

Sure it will because it is and has been the reality for decades in the central city. What fantasy town and un-reality are/have you been living in? Might I suggest a few courses in cultural anthropology?

This is really not a knock, Chimérique. This is a reality found in the core of many, if not most, inner-cities throughout the country. The only difference is that in the final analysis and in terms of size and population, Sacramento's core is really small potatoes so the problems appear bigger than they actually are.
