95655 is the zip code for Mather, not Rancho Cordova. Check usps.gov to verify...Mather is separate from Rancho Cordova.

Hasn't the City of Rancho Cordova annexed Mather?

The Post Office states Rancho Cordova is acceptable for 95655. So, when City Data sends mail there they can address it as Rancho Cordova and you can address it as Mather.

Absolutely not...Mather is unincorporated county...Rancho CAN'T annex Mather as the airport and surrounding former military base was kept county specifically for the airport to remain under county control. Mather cannot be annexed.

"Acceptable" effectually decreases property values in Mather by allowing addressing of Rancho Cordova. We are not covered by ANY Rancho Cordova city services so in this case "Acceptable" does nothing other than decrease our property values by lumping Mather into the same crime statistics and failing home values of Rancho Cordova.

City-Data.com is exacerbating the problem.

Now city.com has Mather as 95670. What is going on. Why isn't Gold River having these issues. Gold River then is Rancho because 95670 has always been Rancho's zipcode. The only reason why the name Gold River was created was because the builder compromised with Rancho Cordova, the County and the Rancho School District that if this housing tract of Gold River was to go to San Juan School District then Gold River would keep the 95670 zipcode. Builder agreed.
