I'm just wondering when & where this patient was exposed, and how they got to Sacramento without anyone knowing....no one knows as admitted in the final video link.

Quote:
A patient at Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center is being tested for possible exposure to the Ebola virus, officials confirmed.
The person has been admitted to the hospital and is in isolation as a precaution, according to Kaiser spokesperson Edwin Garcia.

I have an appointment there on Monday--I'm not really sure I'm comfortable going right now.

I wish they'd put out more information--like "just flew in from ____" or something.

The patient is confined in a negative pressure room. I'd have no problem going to Kaiser South for care.

5:17pm update

Quote:
A Sacramento County patient tested for the Ebola virus returned to California earlier this month after traveling to West Africa, state health officials said Wednesday. Test results are expected back in three days, , Dr. Gil Chavez said during a teleconference Wednesday.

"If that patient eventually became positive, say, for Ebola, we've already identified potential individuals that were exposed," said Chavez, of the California Department of Public Health. "Those individuals have been told of potential exposure and to look for potential symptoms."

I think this patient has been back from West Africa since the early part of August - that is what I heard on the news. It is important to remember that they are also saying she has a low chance of having Ebola and they are just being cautious with the testing.

i wouldnt be too worried. the disease only spreads through contact with bodily fluids and if you keep clean, you shouldn't get the disease.

Not worried. Being in the medical field for many years, am intrigued at this latest development. And just sharing the local news.
