Hi! I'm looking for an awesome gym in Davis or Sacramento with great childcare. I want where everyone goes for the the best spin teacher in town. The best core/pilates classes, etc.. WHere does the local lululemon ambassador teach, etc.. But it also has to have great safe trusted childcare for my toddler/preschoolers. We are moving from out of state. Currently we are at THAT gym where we live, and it's an important hub for us. It is non corporate as well. That matters to me a little bit, but am curious.
Would love your thoughts!
THanks

My thought is that you're going to be very disappointed with such a relatively plebian area.

I'm not familiar with Davis, but as far as the Sacto region goes....
The lulumom's will be teaching at private Pilates/yoga studios.
The best Pilates classes will be at private studios.
One of the best Pilates instructors I know teaches, or used to teach at Capitol Athletic Club. They have teach far more than mat Pilates. http://www.capitalac.com/
Very few of the big box gyms hire people with specialized Pilates training. I've never seen it. They do have other certifications, but not Pilates specific certs, again, at least not at the places I've looked at.
Here's a listing of Pilates studios with Pilates certified teachers: http://www.pilates.com/BBAPP/V/commu...io-finder.html

There are smaller, non corporate gyms all over. There are several in West Sac & midtown. I personally like Midtown Strength & Conditioning Midtown Strength & Conditioning but there are plenty of others to choose from.
People in midtown talk about this place, but I've never heard much about from gym guru's http://www.ironworksgym.info/
I have a friend who loves http://inspiredwellness.com/ a personal trainer studio, they seem to do a lot of bootcamp/CF-style stuff.
Orange Theory is expanding. http://www.orangetheoryfitness.com/
So lots of choices

Most of the big box gyms will have child care, like Cal Fit or 24 Hour Fitness. Smaller gyms and crossFit boxes not likely, but possible. You'd have to check with each one individually. My friends rave about the childcare at CalFit (over 24HF).

I'd also suggest checking out some of the mama's bootcamps or local private personal trainers.

As a side note, my gym in little ole hick town Visalia, was way better as far as amenities than anything around here. But, I've now found a local gym that I'm thrilled with. It offers different services that meet my needs now.

I'm sure you'll be able to find something close to your desires.

Different people have different ideas of what constitutes a "nice gym". If you have kids and are looking for something upscale you might want to look at Arden Hills or Scripps Ranch. Both are pricey, but the childcare at both places is excellent, might be too yuppie for many, but that may be what you are looking for.
