didn't have ac in my car and house that year, i'll never forget it.

from memory, no summer has gotten close to that hot since then.
fresno/cv summer heat gets way overblown on these forums. most years are totally tolerable to me, there are exceptions, of course(2006, being one).

I had looked into retiring to Palm Springs once. Average summer temperature according to the websites was 108. That means that half the days are hotter than that!

Average summer temperature in Sacramento according to the same site was only 92. Much more tolerable by comparison.

Oh heck yes...way more tolerable...I'm very familiar with Palm Springs in the summertime and I still shudder at the memories.
