My hubby and I are relocating to Sac (probably foothills area) in '08 and while I don't mind leaving the Chicago winters behind, I don't want to leave my love of horses and riding.

I want to continue lessons (western and some english) and eventually lease or buy a horse. I am looking for a friendly, unpretentious barn. I currently drive 35 minutes and pay $30 for a half hour lesson.

I found one barn on line called DYKWILY Ranch LLC in Shingle Springs. It looks like a nice place. Is anyone familiar with them? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Also, where is riding allowed? Thanks for your help! Have a good one!

There is a lovely horse ranch (with lessons) on the way to Rancho Murietta

It's where I hope to send my daughter - but forgive me for not remembering the name

I think it's called the Murieta Equestrian Center. LOL I just googled it and it's here;

Murieta Equine Complex

All horses ever did for me is kick me and rub my backside raw
