Is the area around 7400 Stockton Blvd bad? I know it's pretty close to Florin which I think some people mention that is pretty bad.

That's a commercial area.

Basically it's a large vacant lot waiting development with a couple of old dilapidated buildings on it that used to be the old Chicken Villa restaurant, but it's been closed for probably 20 years or so and people have been living in there.

Across the street is an equipment and Budget Truck rental yard, and the next lot up is a strip mall and a commercial shop space.

There are a couple of houses down the street, but the whole area is zoned commercial and is currently being developed, so they won't be there much longer.

Further down the street is an insurance company, a Christian school, a VWF bar, a U-PullIt auto wrecking yard, a trailer park, Sam's Club, an old bowling alley that's now a church, and a Motel 8.

There are also a couple of Asian Strip malls under construction.

On the other side of the street are several vacant lots, one that had a pretty good Blue Tarp Bum Town on it, but they ran them all off and are getting ready to build something there.

There is also a U-Store It place, some low rent, low class apartments, a Circle K gas station, a strip mall with a couple of old furniture stores being used as thrift shops, a liquor store, a video store and a couple of other shops.

Next to that is a Jack in the Box that stays open all night so the hookers and dope dealers from the Motel 8 across the street can come over and meet customers in the parking lot.

It's not very nice, but I can think of a lot worse areas in Sacramento. It is a major area for Hookers and dope though.

A few years back my wife and I were in the vacant field on the corner of Stockton and Gerber across from the U-Pull It. We were digging bamboo roots to transplant to our yard and these two guys came over to talk to us.

They were searching in the grass by the fence that separated the field from the apartments. They said they were looking for Crack, and that they had found a couple ounces the week before.

Evidently, when there was trouble at the apartments, and the cops came, the dealers would throw the dope over the fence and never get back to it.

I don't know what these guys were going to do with it when they found it. They didn't look like dope dealers or Crack Heads. They were middle aged white guys and they talked and acted like they were on a treasure hunt.

Maybe they were police, but they were sure having a good time hunting for Crack.
