I live in Oxnard down in Ventura County right on the coast. It is mild here nearly all year. A hot day would be 80 degrees and when the evening comes the cool air from the Pacific blows in. I know that they have section 8 places. Realize that rents are not cheap. I have never lived in a section 8 rental and we have owned out home since 2010. Apartments around here for a 1 bedroom probably start at $1,300 a month. To buy in our old neighborhood is a bargain at around $450,000 for a home built in 1962.

Back to the OP, have you looked into the southern Oregon coast? Perfect weather for heat-phobes, and I hear rent is pretty cheap around there...

Hotter in Folsom than hometown Visalia at 137 PM:

Folsom/EDH -currently 91 expected temp 108
Lincoln - currently 91 expected 106
Sacramento - currently 91 expected 104

Visalia - currently 91 expected 93
Fresno/Clovis - currently 95 expected 106

It's ugly out there, overcast with a hot breeze just like when you open the oven.

It's all relative. I live in Phoenix, so I'd take Sac's heat instead of Phoenix heat anyday.

You guys are blessed with cool nights and high quality drinking water (even though you're in a drought now.)

If I was section 8, I'd be grateful for what I've been given.
