advantages: low crime, good job growth, mostly newer homes, cheaper real estate than comparable bay area cities, good schools, new mall (palladio) being constructed, a large lake for recreation, beautiful views of the valley/lake from edh

disadvantages: starting to and will continue to become crowded, scorching hot 3 months out of the year, expensive compared to the rest of sac, long commute times downtown, people keep moving here yet both cities refuse to address water and traffic problems.

Overall it's a pretty decent place well suited for families or retirees. Compared to the rest of California it's pretty bland, but when you look at how chaotic the rest of the state is bland starts to look pretty good. Be forewarned though... the Folsom/EDH area you see today will be much different from the same area in 10 years. At the current pace of growth Folsom/EDH and Roseville/Rocklin are shaping up to look more like Orange County than the charming foothill communities they have historically been.
