After the nightmare that was Aftershock parking yesterday (their Facebook page really details it well, but the short version is that many people - myself included - were stuck in the southern lot for over three hours last night), I'd like to park somewhere that I can just walk to the park. I've been told the Wal-Mart on Watt is a decent choice but not sure if they'd be cool leaving a car there for twelve hours and don't want to find out the hard way.

Is there any legit safe all day parking near Gibson Ranch Park? I don't mind walking and I don't mind paying. Just want to be able to leave when it's time to leave.

I would suspect that you are likely to get towed if you park at either the Walmart or the Goodwill/Food Max parking lots across the street from Walmart near Watt and Elverta. Instead I would try the Cherry Island Soccer Complex Parking Lot off U Street between 26th and 24th Streets. The big advantage is that most people driving down Elverta from out of the area don't actually know about that parking lot and aren't looking for it. Second this is a public park, so it should be legal to park there. You could also try the Cherry Island Golf Course, but that access is off Elverta and I think will fill much more quickly.
