Sperlings, Wiki, youtube, and googling have all been completed.

Just wondered if anyone has ever lived there, or known anyone who lived there. It's a very small town of less than 200 people way off the beaten path. There is hardly anything on it whatsoever....so anything you can contribute at all would be appreciated.

Drive down into the auburn rec area from Colfax, the McDonalds exit below the inter. 80 rest area, and someone painted a sign for Iowa Hill on a rock about half a mile into the gorge. Lol at your post since as far as I know, it doesn't exist except as a place for teens to hang out and smoke pot, which is what I found. Maybe there's a ghost town where those 200 people used to be !!!

I don't know anyone who lives there, but I have been to Iowa Hill to hike Stevens Trail South, a popular trail that leads down to the North Fork of the American River. Besides the funky Iowa Hill Store and a cemetery, there isn't much else. Gorgeous area, though.
