We retired and plan moving to Sacramento. We are not consider the school district, but safe, quite communities with easy transportation to city and the recreation facilities. We appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Why are you interested in Sacramento? Its pretty hot there in the summers, and a lot of Ag stuff around the central valley, so it can get polluted air. Though housing is quite a bit more affordable than the coastal cities - SD, LA, SF.

What recreation facilities do you want to be close to?

If you can afford Folsom, it's really nice, as is Davis. I've lived in both, as well as Sacramento. I prefer Davis.

If you could provide a little more info and amenities desired, you would probably get better suggestions. Budget, size of house, whether you prefer to live in the city, suburbs or the country. Without this kind of info, it's hard to suggest specifics.
