Hello everyone,
I currently live in DC-Virginia and work in the tech field as a Systems Engineer. Having lived in the bay area twice in the past 20 years, I still keep on "California dreaming"

I am thinking of Sac as a viable alternative to the SF bay area (which I have written off due to very high living costs, especially real estate ).

So far whatever I have heard and read about Sac is good. However some people are saying that the number of IT jobs are decreasing. Some go as far as saying that people in IT are moving out of Sac.
But then again, some people say that IT companies are starting to look at Sac as a cheaper alternative to the bay area.

What is the reality?
Are there any tech / IT jobs in the Sac area?
Are the tech jobs decreasing or increasing?

Any insight is highly appreciated :-)

Thanks!
-Raj

PS: yes, I searched here.... there are a few threads but all are pretty old.

I bet you more than can afford the bay area. Its people like you that ruin each area they go to and price it up.. you all buy real estate in cheaper areas and then turn it into a SF type place.. the east has the same problem too.

ha ha, I wish, "really" wish I could afford the bay area.
BTW I know what you mean, but I am not one of "those" people.
