It's even bad in Silicon Valley. People here are walking around with face masks.

Our air quality here in West Roseville is ghastly. It's so thick it looks like fog plus you can taste it. It feels like living in an ashtray. I won't even let the dog out to do yard patrol - just do her business and get back in. Those little lungs don't need it either. So far I haven't noticed any ashes but I've been hiding out inside so maybe I missed it. We had ashes from the Carr Fire and from Tubbs so I expect we'll get some. Off to buy some N95 masks in the morning. Wish they made them for dogs, too.

Yeah I need to get an N95 mask as well. Never seen it this bad ever from a fire this far away. Where can I buy one of these masks at?

I got ours at the East Sac Hardware Store.

So, a food truck from Sac drove up to Chico to feed evacuees at a shelter in Chico.
I think I'll head up to Chico to donate coats and gloves.

"Camp Fire" - 23 Killed, 6,453 homes destroyed, 109,000 acres burned, 25% contained.

Smoke not as bad today in Sac, its cleared a lot, still not good, but it could still get really bad again if fires keep burning with increased winds up north later today.

The weather lady this morning was talking about how glorious a weekend this would be if it were not for the smoke, count your blessings though it could be worse if your house was burned up along with losing your life.

I reserved some at Home Depot as they only had 7 left in stock! Since I bike to work, I need these until air clears up. Bad policies from Brown to avoid this mess are to blame as well as PG&E.

Most hardware and woodworking stores will carry N95 masks. Check out Woodcraft, Home Depot, Lowe's, Emigh, and Ace. They may also be available at craft stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Jo Ann's, and RC Country.

Also, just saw a story that the City of Sacramento is handing out free masks to city residents at all fire stations.

Some fire stations have already run out, so maybe call before you go. Don't know if/when they'll get more masks.
