Hello,

I am moving from the east coast and will work at Sac State. I am looking to rent an apartment or house 2bd/2bath with an under 30-minute commute. Ideally, I would love to be closer to campus. My budget is anywhere from $1,600 - $2,000. I have no school-age children nor pets. Being single, I am looking for a safe area. I am open to urban and suburban.

Are there Property Management companies that are good to work with or apartment complexes to consider or stay away from.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide.

Stay as close to campus as possible. The traffic is brutal. Welcome to California! You'll like it.

The College Glen, Campus Commons, Sierra Oaks and Tahoe Park neighborhoods are relatively close to the campus and offer housing that would be within your budget. There's been an effort in recent years to build more faculty and student housing near campus. When you do your online research, type in zip codes 95825, 95826 and 95820 for those neighborhoods.

What are some affordable areas near Sac State to purchase a home?
I am priced out of East Sacramento, Curtis Park, Land Park and midtown and work downtown.

Maybe look into College Glen, Tahoe Park or Rosemont.
