This convinces me to get solar and a backup generator if I buy a home in the area. Being functional without blackouts would be a big plus.

Is there any information in this video ( thttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQUZU-zVkEU) that you as a Californian do not think is right?

I spent a lot of my vacation time visiting my Father in Santa Cruz in the 1970s. Back then Santa Cruz was very nice but there were some really WHACKO people living there IMHO. The lifestyle back then was great for young singles with no kids. HAS THAT CHANGED? Just curious. I haven't been back to Santa Cruz since my Dad died in 1978.

I think there is some truth to this argument, but I think the producers of the video overstate their argument. Large parts of California get hot in the summertime, There is somewhere around 36 million people living in California. California is filled with mountains and valleys that trap pollution, we go through periods where we might not have appreciable rain for six months, that in other areas would clean out the air, so we have the ideal conditions for smog. Its not the regulations that are causing the smog. Its the smog causing the need for regulations.

Is California ideally regulated? No we have our share of boondoggles. But so does the midwest. I mean do we need all of the price supports for corn growers, can we get rid of rid of the ethanol rules? Can we just get rid of the tariffs on sugar imports so we can get rid of the high fructose corn syrup in our food supply?
