IF I was hunting using a flintlock black powder rifle and lead round ball ammo ,is this now illegal in California due to the ban on lead ammo? What about 22 rimfire bullets ,are they also illegal to use for small game?

Effective July 1, 2019, nonlead ammunition is required when taking any wildlife with a firearm anywhere in California. So no lead ammo of any kind for hunting

So it's OK still for target practice

So then 22 rimfires are not allowed for hunting in the state of California?? I don't think there is any non lead 22 rimfire ammo. And no black powder weapons either . Practicing at the target range with non lead ammo will not hit the same place as lead ammo .

You can get 22LR copper ammo. It’s only 21 grain though. Good luck with that.

22lr with copper bullets? What brand is that? 21 grains they must fly fast, but I bet they aren't accurate .
