I lived in Sac about 20 years ago and always liked the area. I am thinking of moving back to town and renting for a bit and then looking o buy when I am sure I am wanting to stay. Any comments about Campus Commons area now. I went to school down there so I know what it used to be. Still nice area?

Yes, it's still a very nice area and since it's well established has lots of mature trees. The area also has gotten some new grocery stores on Howe Avenue and nice shops near Fair Oaks Blvd. and Howe Avenue.

It seems like the area is holding it's price level in what is a slipping market elsewhere in town. That may or may not be a good thing for a buyer. $400-450k for a condo isn't cheap but if it holds it's value and is not just slow to fall than it wouldn't hurt a buyer. I would be interested in trying to rent in the area, if there were any rentals, for 6-12 months and watch the prices. Unless of course some great deal popped up.
