I am thinking of relocating to Solano County soon. Does anyone have any information on where to find an apartment? Would like to live in a culturally diverse community. I am particularly interested in Fairfield, Vacaville or Suisun.

Thanks

All of those cities are culturally diverse- Vacaville probably being the least so (but nobody would stick out like a sore thumb or anything). Vacaville would be the safest of the three. I'd say there would be plenty of houses up for rent now with all of the foreclosures etc in the area. Apartments are abundant in all three towns- have you looked at craigslist yet?

I grew up in Vacaville and am there frequently as my parents live there.. Suisun is pretty bad as is much of Fairfield, however the "outskirts" of Fairfield have some nice homes that are safe and there are a few decent shopping centers nearby, definitely avoid anything in the central part of Fairfield. The Green Valley area is near Fairfield and is safe, very "uppity" people with a lot of high priced homes. Most of Vacaville is safe but there are a few areas to avoid. The schools in this county are horrendous and filled with druggies, gangbangers and general ignorant people looking to cause trouble, I wouldn't recommend raising a family here but if you are not raising a family and want the suburban / slow paced lifestyle it may be a good place for you, fairly decent weather, centrally located between Sac and the Bay Area, etc

Thank you both for your info. I had a sudden change in plans and will need to stay where I currently live for a while.
