Hey all
Considering a move to Elk Grove from Roseville area, but hate the suburbia, track house situation.
I love the rural-er park of Elk Grove ( closer to 99), even galt or sloughouse… but it’s too far out from my work.
basically just a place with some land ( not TOO much), nature , and a bit more privacy. However, I need to be able to pop to Elk Grove proper ( work is in laguna area off 5).
Any one know of any communities that would match my needs?

Further than you want, but you sure get a lot more for your money out in Ione.

There's Hood and Franklin (Hood-Franklin Road off of I-5). This issue with Franklin is that Elk Grove subdivisions have grown practically to the edge of Franklin. Hood is a quaint river town at the junction of Hood-Franklin Road and SR-160. Wilton may be another option.

Nope there is really nothing off 5 that is close by. It's all farmland and wild life refuge. I would just suck it up and move to rural Elk Grove. It's got the best mix of actual rural communities, good schools, and easy access into town. I have a couple co workers who love it there.
