What is the average price of pool care?

From the research I have done, it is $125 a month for full service. That includes weekly cleaning, chemicals, and maintenance of equipment (pump, heater, etc.) Since we are new to owning a pool we would like professional help until we can wrangle it on our own. Our schedule will not allow us to do it ourselves for the first month or so, otherwise I would give it the old college try

I really love the guy we use. His name is Ron Cody. You can reach him at 916-730-7918. He really knows his "stuff". He will educate you on the proper care and use of your pool equipment, and he makes himself available whenever you need him. He is also very happy to provide service only when you need it; he doesn't push for long-term contracts. And best of all, imho, even if you haven't called him in a year, he remembers you, and treats you like a weekly pool service client. I can't recommend him highly enough.
