Moving from L.A. to Lincoln. Just bought a new construction home in Lincoln Crossings. The elementary school that my youngest daught was suppose to attend is full. They are sending her to Creekside oaks. All the info about the test scores that I can pull up show that the scores are lower than the state average. Even lower that the school she is leaving here in L.A. Anyone eles in Lincoln Crossing having this problem? If you have a child that is already attending this school please let me know how you and your child like it.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Mack

My son went to first and second grade at Creekside. We then moved to south Florida. We miss Creekside greatly and only have good things to say. After attending Creekside my son was placed in an accelerated program here in Florida because he is almost a full year ahead of third grade in Florida. I beleive it is a great school and not to worry about the test scores. They do not reflect the level of teaching at the school.

When I was living in Lincoln ( we were at 12 Bridges) my neighbour's daughter used to go to Creekside Oaks before moving to 12 Bridges elementary. She couldn't say enough good things about Creekside and so once we moved away - She went and bought a house in Lincoln Crossing and sent her daughter back to Creekside. I believe that it is a Charter school as well - which means that they govern themselves and do not therefore have so many rules and stipulations to have to go by. This is actually a very good thing because it encourages innovative teaching practices and therefore often the test scores for Charter schools are below the regular schools because the emphasis is on the individual child and not 'teaching to the test' so to speak. If you PM me I think I still have her email - you could ask her directly what she likes about it if you want.
