Morning everyone. I have searched the forums without success regarding rental homes in the Foothill Farms area, more specifically Galbrath Dr and Heather Tree Dr. The area appears nice and quiet with moderate homes. "Appears" is the key. We have been living in Cameron Park for the past 7 years so moving to the Sacramento area is not only a huge step for us but scary since we are not familiar with the areas in and around Sac.

We need to move as close to SAC International Airport as possible to cut down on commute time. Can anyone recommend a nice safe area within a few miles of the airport where the average monthly rental rate is around $1100-$1200/month?

Thanks for any/all input.

Do you have kids?

In general, Foothill Farms is a medicore neighborhood, although you have found one of the nicer parts of Foothill Farms. If you don't care about the schools, the neighborhood is probably fine. But if you don't care about the schools, I think North Natomas is probably better fit. Its closer to the Airport and you might be looking at a home that is a little newer with more up to date features that is probably comparably safe.

If you do have kids, I would probably be looking at Citrus Heights or maybe some where in the Arden Arcade region. If you look in those areas, you should probablly be able to find a home with better schools than what you are looking at in Foothill Farms.

Thanks ubu. No, no kids...they both grew up and left home a long time ago. Today I found some homes in Roseville near baseline road. The area appears much nicer and more along what DH and I are accustomed.
