If you're into Sacramento-produced horror films, I'd recommend MONSTER FROM BIKINI BEACH, a Screaming Catfish production...no Flavor Flav, but it does feature a twelve-foot radioactive mutant catfish monster that LUSTS FOR BLOOD! More details at trash-film-orgy-home

I guess it's a good city to film a horror film in -- I was certainly wanting to be murdered the last time I had to spend time there.

Well, Sacramento does have a pretty active indie film community, and I think we now have 2 or 3 annual horror/midnight movie film festivals in town. Sorry you didn't get your wish last time you were here, but hey, better luck next time!

I don't think some people realize there is more happening in the Central Valley than they might realize. The coastal areas don't have a monopoly.

Like Sacramento, we have an active indie film production community in Fresno. They have now formed a 501c3 non-profit called Fresno Filmmakers Alliance to work on several projects to grow the Fresno production scene.

The Fresno group has a couple of social networking sites
Fresno Filmmakers Forum | Facebook
Fresno Filmmakers Forum - connecting our local production community

The group holds an annual Fresno filmmaking conference along with different workshops during the year.

There is also a sub-group working on developing a 4-acre production lot/studio complex here in Fresno for small filmmakers.

Does Sacramento have an independent film festival?

I went to the festival in San Jose last year, it was a blast.
