Chris Webster was my dear friend! I spent many hours with her family at her house in jr. high and high school. I haven't spoken to her for years, but I understand she has done very well for herself with her band and plays all over with them.

How neat!

My maiden name was "Kitchen". I have a brother, Jeff.

Take care,
Lisa

Hi Lisa! Jay is my son. He and Heidi and I think Chris used to be in the high school jazz dancers.

Jay is now an expat in England. Gave up his U.S. citizenship and is now a Brit!

I remember the Jazz group that Chris was in. That was a lot of fun. I am sorry I don't remember Jay or Heidi.

Take care,
Lisa

I know quite a few San Francisco teachers who live in not only Davis but Sacramento - and beyond - and commute. Soon I hope to be one of them, since all I can afford any closer in is disgusting ghetto areas that are unsafe or bedbug-infested cheap hostels. I have to resign myself to going through a car every year, as my father used to put it......

If you have to go through a car every year, is it even worth it? Seems like the extra cost of commuting, plus the stress would make it untenable for both financial and personal reasons.

I realize this thread is over two years old, but the following statement cracks me up:

If you live in Davis and are buying a home there, could you please let me know how you afford it? Thank you!
If you think Davis is expensive, you'll find SF and LA hell. I rented a 1bdrm for $800/mo going to grad school when real estate was still hot (read: 2007.) In So Cal, I can only share a room in a house or rent a studio in a bad neighborhood for the same price.
