Look at the climate data. During the summertime, the humidity in the afternoon is actually less in Sacramento than the humidity in Denver.

In May the average afternoon humidity is 35 in Sac and 38 in Denver, In June its 31 in Sac and 35 in Denver, In July its 28 in Sac and 34 in Denver, In Sept its 29 in Sac and 35 in Denver.

In Sacramento you get very little rain from May through September. In Denver you can get afternoon thunderstorms in the summer.

Yeah, summer in Denver is a different story. I don't use much lotion then. The afternoon rain helps a LOT with the humidity. When it doesn't though, the humidity is much lower than it is in Sac. The nice thing about that though, is when you're in the shade it doesn't feel nearly as hot as the numbers would reflect. Trust me, numbers don't tell the whole story. And the altitude also plays a part in some of the weather difference too.

The rest of the year is where it gets uncomfortably dry out here - especially the winter. We don't get much moisture at all out here in the winter, where Norcal gets all of it's moisture in the winter/spring.

I thought Sac was real dry when I first moved there from the bay area. Then I moved to denver - no contest!

That's why I try and tell people that the numbers don't always tell the whole story. Stay here for a week or two and you'll see what I mean.
