Up to your usual trolling. Oak Park is ghetto, the neighborhoods are far from Rocklin and the schools in these are magnet programs or marginal at best. Moreover the commute to Rocklin is rediculous.

Is that a list of 6 places that you would never want to raise a family? It's sure at least 6 out my top 10 places to avoid.

Amazing how you think Anatolia is a bad area but those are the 'good' areas. Now that's funny.

Story in today's paper about the rendering plant, apparently they are getting some pressure to move:

In 2002, the county approved thousands of new homes for the Sunrise-Douglas area to the east...

Since the Sunrise-Douglas development began in what is now the city of Rancho Cordova, more than 300 odor complaints have been logged with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, agency data show.

Funny...this is kind of like a few years ago when people in Elk Grove suddenly realized that the gigantic tanks down there (which had been there long before the homes got built) with "PROPANE" on the side actually contained...PROPANE!...and demanded that the tanks move, and the city of Elk Grove filed suit. A judge said fine, as long as the city of Elk Grove pays for the move, which would have cost many millions...city of Elk Grove said "never mind."

Making the rendering plant move is bull. The area needs industrial areas and Rancho Cordova is one of them. And no I wouldn't live there.

Wburg, my favorite part of the story is where the fellow who was discussing his complaint stated that they disclosed the rendering plant when he bought the home, but didn't disclose the smell.

And he is a high school principal...

Maybe he thought it was a 3-D rendering plant, and they produced computer-generated images?

We have lived here almost 2 years. We love it. This is also the better part of Rancho. The bad part is on the other side of 50. There is nothing wrong with living here. This was our first time buying a house so we checked out everything.
