hey there! We are in the process of purchasing our first home. After 3 months of fighting with realtors and hating our loan agent we chose to ditch them all and buy a KB home. I am so nervous because we passed the pre-qualification and now are in the underwriting process. So question number one is: How long does underwriting take? I am going to have a nervous breakdown if I don't know either way pretty soon. Also we are waiting to get our appt for the design center. We are not upgrading anything (the upgrades we wanted we already chose when signing the contract). We are not picky people and we just need to get out of where we are at because our rent is $400.00 more than if we bought a home. When you go to the design center do they have any options you can pick. For example I know the carpet is included and we have pets so I am not upgrading to something more expensive but do you get a choice of say light brown or dark brown? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

I am not in a KB home yet, but will be moving into my home in Roseville in two weeks.

As far as the underwriting, I gave them a bunch of documents and answered their questions and got the approval back pretty quick. They move fast.

As far as the design center. You have the choice of 4 carpets ranging from gray to dark beige. The same goes for the linoleum in your bathroom and kitchen and the tile in your entry. Each one has 4 choices for standard. I upgrade the carpets because I wanted upgraded padding and this premium carpet came with the upgrade padding for free.

I am not sure how this varies with plumas lake, but I hope it helps. Do they have a design studio up there or are you heading to the one in Natomas?

We have lived in a KB Home in Plumas Lake for the last three years and love it! Beware the Standard Carpet, it is well below standard!
