"Comparing statistics from the California Department of Justice for Lincoln with those of other Placer County cities, the Lincoln Police Department recently determined Lincoln’s crime rate in 2008 to be 14 per 1,000 residents, according to Lincoln Police Chief Brian Vizzusi.

The two cities in Placer County closest to Lincoln’s low crime rate are Rocklin and Folsom, with 24 crimes per 1,000, Vizzusi said.

“Placer County is a really safe county,” Vizzusi said. “I think that we live in a very crime-free county and to have the lowest crime rate is a great thing.”

Folsom is not in Placer county. But Placer Co does have a real low crime rate. Crime is still there, though.

Took it right out of the Lincoln Messenger Newspaper.

Moving to Placer County is a great choice in my opinon. I grew up in Roseville. Its a great place but is getting crowded. Ive been hearing for over 30 years that Lincoln is bad. Alot of meth. More than Roseville i heard. Sorry Lincoln. Just what ive been hearing. As far as Rocklin goes...its a great town. But most kids i know who grew up there say its boring so they end up using some kind of drug. Sorry Rocklin..just what ive heard. Try Penryn. It is nice quiet small town right after Rocklin on 80 towards Auburn. Cant go too wrong..

I've never heard that about Lincoln. i think you are confusing Lincoln with Fresno. What's your source? Drugs are EVERYWHERE

I grew up in Lincoln. Meth was everywhere in the 80s, I doubt it's changed much now.

(I am not suggesting that Lincoln is any worse than any other part of Northern California. We were ahead of the meth curve up here. We are meth pioneers. It's our contribution to society.)

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's any worse than other areas in NorCal. It's certainly not worse than the central San Joaquin valley. If you look at the news, Fresno is the current epicenter.

One of the more anecdotal posts I've read on here.. Also, this thread is from 2009.

Damn I posted in this thread 5 years ago and here I am posting in it again.
