I had been looking at Folsom area but have begun setting my sites on Fair Oaks. Do you think this area is more diverse than Folsom? Is it as safe with low crime like Folsom is described? Does anyone know whether the Waldorf school is good in Fair Oaks? We would like to feel like although we are in the suburbs that there is energy and things going on. We live in Phoenix and are relocating and find the suburbs here a bit boring. Would Fair Oaks be a place young boys would enjoy growing up in? Parks? Any information would be appreciated.

In response to folsomquestion, my ex-neighbor is a teacher at the Waldorf School in Fair Oaks, and it's an excellent school. They moved last year to Fair Oaks to be closer to his job, and are very happy with the area.

In response to the commute time, if I have to leave downtown at 5:00 using Hwy. 50, and exiting at Watt Ave, it can still be an hour or more before I get home. The bottlenecks are not always the freeway, but the exit streets and how far you have to travel. Some days it takes forever to get down Watt Ave.

Hi there-
I have heard great things about Sacramento Waldorf School. I have done a tour and it is an amazing campus. You may also consider Camellia Waldorf- it is closer to midtown area (my son attends there and we love it and many families from midtown, east sac, land park, elk grove, and west sac send their kids there). They have a different feel, so I would recommend touring both. But if you are commuting and wanting to live in Fair Oaks I would recommend the area near Sac Waldorf. That way you could drop off the kid(s) easily and then commute (it's far from the freeway in my opinion).

Hi, with regard to fair oaks, wondering if anyone could recommend some good streets or areas (i.e. close to river or near old town?) where we should look for a nice rental home. 3b/2b in nice condition. We are trying to look from the internet and it is so difficult to know where we want to be. My husband will be traveling there in a couple of weeks. What streets should he be sure to drive or specific areas to check out?

Thanks!
