Can somebody tell me about the hospital and surrounding areas reputation. (e.g. lots of reported crimes, etc) It is located on L street. I do not even know where that is. I am trying to look for a job and saw an opening in this hospital. Also, are there any apartment complexes near it that's reasonably priced (up to $1,200). Thanks.

That's in East Sacramento. An extremely nice area.

No apartments to really speak of - it's a vintage neighborhood so lots of houses to rent for that price.

You are very lucky!

Sutter General is located between Midtown Sacramento and East Sacramento (Midtown is to the west, obviously.) Midtown is the currently-hip neighborhood, lots of apartments, somewhat pricey. There are a lot of bars and nightlife spots, so there are a lot of crimes one would associate with bars--drunk driving, public intoxication, fistfights, some drug sales, etcetera. The neighborhoods are pretty proactive and if you're more than a couple blocks from a bar they get much quiter. East Sacramento is a slightly newer neighborhood (as in 1900-1930 houses vs. 1870-1920.) There are apartment complexes in East Sacramento, just not quite as many as Midtown. They tend to cost a little more and be quieter. $1200 is enough to get something nice, but renting a whole house for $1200 might be kind of a stretch.

Sutter General Hospital is right off the freeway (Capitol City Freeway).
