My 28 yr old daughter just got a job at UC Davis and will be moving within the month from the Midwest. Looking at the crime stats and reading things on this site, I'm not sure I want her anywhere in the entire Sacramento area.
I'm ignorant to the area so please forgive me.
Where can she find a house or apt to rent in a good safe area? She doesn't need nightlife but likes things the basics close by. Driving 20-30 minutes to get to work isn't an issue.

If she is working in Davis, Davis is probably her best bet. I would rent something in Davis for 6 months. After she has a better lay of the land, she can look elsewhere. Its a nice place to live, there a lot of things to do there and her commute would be minimal.
