Check out section 6.24 and 6.25 here.

It sounds like you would prefer to open a place under 6.25, but 6.25 aren't allowed to do boarding of animals. Instead you have to fulfill the more rigorous requirements under 6.24.

Ironically if you were looking to actually breed under 6.25, you would face less onerous standards. But because you want to board animals, you are held to the more rigorous standard.

Is there any way to find out if dog kennels or runs are allowed on properties in Placerville? Are "mixed use" properties allowed (live-in plus business)? I know some cities and town have zoning restrictions against that.

Thank you in advance
Hello. First off I ran a day care kennel in Brooklyn NY> It's a tough business to run and keep clean..if you know what I mean...Now I am a retired placervillian with 3 dogs here. Jobs are not what they were here..my guess most will take care of their own...good luck!
