If I was at retirement age I would choose Dallas over Salem, quieter and safer in my opinion. Closer to the coast by 20 minutes or so as well. Heck, I would choose Dallas over Salem right now. Just my 2cents.

There is a $1550 transfer fee that you would have to pay and then the HOA dues are $795 a year without golf and then golf is $470 a year in addition to the $795.

Another question, Silverfall.... in an earlier post in this thread, you said it was 'really expensive'... meaning, the price of the houses? The HOA dues? Both? A cursory internet search didn't turn up much info.

Thanks!

The lowest priced homes in Stoneybrook are about $375,000 and they go up from there. Obviously, really expensive is relative, but they are kind of pricey for many retirees. The HOA dues are $139 a month for front yard landscaping service, clubhouse and pool. I think the HOA dues are pretty reasonable for that as most people hiring an independent lawn service would pay at least $100 a month.

That does seem high.... what would you say is the "premium" for a Stoneybrook house, versus a comparable house elsewhere in Corvallis?
