Hey, im 19 and my friend and I were considering moving to SLC and go to univ of utah. im from the east coast and want to move out west and have an outdoorsy, big city feel. im hearing a lot about SLC and how its pretty boring and very family oriented and am afraid being 19, it wont be the most fun city to be living in. any info you have on stuff that goes on in SLC will be helpful! thanks

Yes, Salt Lake is close to the mountains but I wouldn't say it has an outdoorsy feel and it definitely doesn't have a big city feel. It's actually a small city compared to most big cities in the East coast. That being said I do think Salt Lake has many things going for it. World class skiing really close, safe neighborhoods, an involved community, and, despite popular belief, there are plenty of things to do. You just gotta look in the right places. lol

Being in the city itself and attending the U, you'd probably never be bored.
