Hi, I'm moving to Utah at the end of the month, with a place in Provo. How long is the commute to Murray? I'd be working M-F from 8-5. I'm thinking I should cancel on the place and live somewhere closer.

The Point of the Mountain is a bottleneck for some reason. Bad weather can be a factor. So yes, unless there's a compelling reason to live in Provo, I would not. There are plenty of apartments closer.

I agree with SouthernBelle. The commute is about 40 minutes in good weather. Point of the mountain becomes horrendous during a bad snow storm. Plus, there is currently I-15 construction in Utah county. I advise people to not make point of the mountain part of their daily commute. I don't know your situation, but also keep in mind that Provo is a very family-oriented (LDS) place, and it's not what I would call a "desirable" place for singles.

Oh, man. I would not want to make that commute during rush hour in a snowstorm. You should be able to find PLENTY of apartments or houses for rent closer to Murray or right in Murray. There are literally dozens of condo communities in and close to Murray.
